Body of Petition: "As a member of the Issaquah Business Community I believe the Issaquah Skyport adds much to our town, and that every effort must be made to preserve it, with fair compensation to the property owners.
The Skyport is an integral part of the image of Issaquah, an image which is vital to the marketing of our town. Image will become the determining factor in the future when the City attempts to attracts large corporations and their employees to the Issaquah area.
The Skyport brings tourists, and we at _____________________derive economic gain as a result, either directly or indirectly. The city receives its share of revenues through B & O and sales taxes, and our residents benefit from the increased level of available services.
Issaquah's parallel image is one of natural beauty. We encourage the City Council to keep an eye to the future and provide for green spaces along our I-90 corridor.
What could be better than a park-like facility that adds to our business community _and_city revenues as well as the unique quality of our town?
We aruge the Issaquah City Council to sponsor a bond issue which would provide for public purchase of the Issaquah Skyport, with fair and just compensation to the property owners.
